MCA Annual Lecture looks at the business of sport

The growing significance of sport as a business and for the wider economy is the topic for debate at the MCA’s Annual Lecture this year.

 As the UK prepares for the Olympics, over 200 guests will gather to hear from:

• award winning journalist Mihir Bose
• Deloitte’s Dan Jones
• Trevor Birch of PKF
•  and Dr Anne Filatotchev, who oversees Aviva’s extensive programme of sports sponsorship.

 Alan Leaman, CEO of the MCA, said:

 “We have a sparkling line-up of star speakers for this event. Sport has never been more important to the confidence and economy of Britain. We are now starting to think of it as a key part of our economy, with the potential to generate many more jobs and exports for the UK. This event will lift the lid on this potential, and explore some of the controversies that we will encounter along the way.”
