‘Getting more from the same’ is the first insight report of its kind, which kicks off the MCA’s Dealing with the Downturn series.
The report shows that, as a result of the credit crunch, there has been a new urgency in all sectors around performance initiatives that seek to improve productivity, without increasing capital or headcount.
The report advises that concentrating on technological improvements alone in order to boost productivity has been proven to make only an average contribution to performance. Concentrating on behavioural change as well as making technological change is key to having continuing success in a tough economy.
This report is based on a survey of over 80 CEOs, CFOs and COOs in both public and private sector organisations, plus interviews with over 20 consultants and managers with responsibility for productivity improvement.
