Abigail Dempster, Nous Group

Young Consultant of the Year

MCA Awards 2026 Finalist

Abigail Dempster began her career in consulting because, simply put, she likes people. Understanding people’s challenges and working with excellent teams to solve them is what drew her to the profession. Four-and-a-half years later, her commitment to supporting clients, colleagues, and her organisation remains at the heart of the value she brings to her role.

From Graduate Consultant to Manager, Abigail has worked on more than thirty projects across higher education and government, focusing on high-stakes work in transformation and the organisation, people, and leadership space. Notably, she helped a large national body redefine leadership following a major restructure, supported a university of 30,000 students on the brink of losing its timetable, and mobilised a transformation programme for a global top-40 institution affecting 40,000 students and staff. In each case, she built trusted relationships to deliver meaningful change and leave clients with a tangible record of progress.

Abigail also cares deeply about contributing to her organisation, whether supporting the UK CEO with business development, culture, and performance priorities as Strategy Manager, or championing EDI as the Disability and Wellbeing Network office lead.

Her clients and organisational network are a valuable source of expertise, and she continues to learn from them to hone her craft. As she progresses in her career, Abigail remains committed to developing her people-first style to get the best out of her clients, teams, and herself.
