Emily Baines, Moorhouse

Team Leader Consultant of the Year

MCA Awards 2026 Finalist

When she joined the business eight years ago as a junior consultant, the firm did not have a strategy practice. Today, she leads one that is recognised with silver status in the Financial Times’ UK Leading Management Consultants ranking.
Her specialty is making strategy tangible and defining not just the destination but the practical route to get there. She has embedded this mindset within the team and across the business. Externally, she has shared this approach internationally as a guest lecturer at the EHL Business School.
She is particularly energised when strategy directly improves patient outcomes. A career highlight was work with an NHS Trust, where she co‑designed a strategy with 2,000 stakeholders and redesigned the care model, avoiding over 1,200 emergency admissions in a year. She is currently working in pharma, where her team is driving patient centricity through behavioural change and AI‑enabled insight.
Internally within the firm, a core motivation for her is developing others, especially women, through coaching, psychological safety, and structured development. She takes real joy in seeing colleagues grow into confident leaders.
