Jill Sherriff, Capgemini Invent

Team Leader Consultant of the Year

MCA Awards 2026 Finalist

Jill Sherriff leads a multi-disciplinary team that has brought radical change to the way the Royal Air Force (RAF) builds its digital operational capability in critical air, sea and land defence operations. This is teamwork that runs on a philosophy of empowerment, which has delivered results in complex, high-value and politically sensitive engagements.

Jill has led her team to create entirely new propositions for security, scoping and tooling for the RAF’s digital capability. She has pioneered new commercial models and applied systems thinking to ensure rapid digital innovation is balanced with enterprise architecture, benefits and risk controls. Jill’s team has found ways to navigate the Ministry of Defence’s (MOD’s) complex policy, accreditation and security constraints to achieve outcomes others considered unachievable.
In Capgemini, this kind of teamwork is known as “the Jill approach”.

“It’s about openness,” says Jill. “Openness with my team. Openness with the client. I want to portray that authentically as I believe that’s how trust is built. It’s my default and my clients appreciate my sincerity.”
