Kayode Akinrinlola, Jacobs

Inclusion Award

MCA Awards 2026 Finalist

Kayode Akinrinlola is a UK-based Principal Consultant and Global Vice-Chair of Harambee, Jacobs’ Black employee network open to all colleagues and allies.

Through this role, he turns inclusion from intent into everyday action. In practice, this means listening carefully to colleagues’ perspectives, ensuring quieter voices are heard, and offering practical guidance that helps individuals grow in confidence and capability. He regularly creates space for early-career colleagues to discuss challenges openly and supports them in identifying clear steps for their development. These everyday actions foster psychological safety, practical support and visible advocacy.

Since taking on global leadership responsibilities, network membership has grown from 2,097 to 2,193 (c. 5%), reflecting the effectiveness and reputation of the initiatives he has shaped and led.

Kayode’s work has also contributed to measurable improvements in organisational culture indicators. In the latest culture survey, the proportion of colleagues who feel fully included increased by 3.9%, engagement rose by 5.0%, and strategic alignment improved by 7.3% compared with the previous survey in 2023.

Kayode has curated and scaled initiatives including mentoring and sponsorship pathways, CV and interview clinics, the global Elevate career development series, and Courageous Conversations that build psychological safety at scale. Several employee networks collaborate with or replicate these programmes.

His leadership is recognised across Jacobs, and he is regularly invited to represent inclusion alongside senior leadership, global C-suite executives and Board members.
