Over the last five years, Matt has built a reputation as the go-to person clients rely on when dealing with complexity and political sensitivity. His standout strength is his ability to build relationships that unlock delivery. Matt focuses on people first, so teams can deliver with confidence.
His background in sport and teaching taught him patience, perseverance, and the importance of helping others succeed, to succeed yourself. This people-centred approach is what defines him as a consultant and building relationships based on needs of others is the foundation of his success to date.
He leads the operational readiness workstream on a major national security construction programme, responsible for twenty-six work packages and a multidisciplinary team of eleven. He is delivering a new operating model for the business and transitioning staff into their new site. He is a trusted strategic advisor to the client, a core part of the senior leadership team, and has helped deliver business cases securing £100m of funding. This programme will deliver capabilities crucial to the future security of our country. Enabling this is something Matt is incredibly proud of.
Alongside delivery, Matt is committed to building capability. He has written the AtkinsRéalis AI Policy for use by 38,000 employees, redesigned the early careers’ training/development programme, and acted as an SME, training in Agile methodology. He is described as “indispensable,” “a trusted advisor” and “a natural leader who balances support with autonomy,” reflecting the environment he creates for colleagues and clients alike.
