Chartered Management Consultant of the year

MCA Awards 2026 Finalist

I’m entering the MCA Awards for Chartered Management Consultant of the Year because I’ve had the opportunity to help organisations deliver transformation that works in practice, not just on paper.

A lot of change fails for predictable reasons. Plans that look robust but don’t survive contact with reality, decisions that take too long, and teams that don’t feel able to raise concerns as risks build. My focus is to create clarity early, be honest about what will and won’t work, and support leadership teams to make timely decisions while there is still room to adjust course. I’d always rather have a difficult conversation early than write an explanation later for a programme that ran late, cost more than expected, or disrupted the business.

I also believe good consulting should be consistent and repeatable, not dependent on one individual. That’s why I introduced the Chartered Management Consultant (ChMC) framework and programme within my firm, to make expectations and development clearer from our entry-level Academy through to senior delivery leadership. As a result, we now have our first nine delivery leaders with chartered status, helping to raise the standard of delivery for clients.

Alongside client work, I contribute to the wider profession through the Management Consultancies Association. As Deputy Chair of the MCA SME Committee, and through regular events and peer discussions, I try to share practical lessons and champion high standards that support clients and consultants alike.
