MCA Membership

Become part of the UK consulting community

The Management Consultancies Association (MCA) is the representative body for management consultancy firms in the UK. With over 90 members, its member companies comprise over 50% of the UK consulting industry and work with the vast majority of the top FTSE 100 companies and almost all parts of the public sector. The UK consulting industry is amongst the best in the world and a vital part of the business landscape.

Membership of the MCA offers many benefits, from strengthening your reputation as a key player in the industry, to giving you a voice, providing access to valuable industry data and research, building your network and developing your team.

We work closely with our member firms to define our strategy. Through engagement with senior management, future leaders, young consultants, and marketing professionals in our member firms we are able to ensure the MCA effectively represents and meets the needs of the industry.

The MCA focuses on delivering value to members in three key areas:

  • Voice of the Industry
  • Professionalism
  • Member Engagement

Voice of the Industry

The MCA provides a platform for members to engage in public debate with business and government on topical issues. Our activities include reports, policy papers, events and articles, giving members an opportunity to demonstrate their expertise and showcase best practice. Members are also invited to contribute via working groups which allow experts from member firms to debate issues and develop new thinking for the industry.

The MCA achieves significant press coverage for its reports and insights, and it is highly respected as an authoritative source of commentary on not only the industry but wider business and public sector issues. We have strong relationships with journalists in the national press, broadcast, and the relevant trades.

The MCA frequently holds meetings with government bodies and parliamentarians to communicate the value of the industry, contribute to debate, and represent the interests of the UK consulting industry.

Professionalism
All firms have to meet stringent entry criteria to become MCA members, and are audited periodically to ensure that these high standards are maintained. This ensures that MCA membership is a true badge of quality that helps MCA members to stand out from the competition. The MCA’s Consulting Excellence scheme commits members to promoting high standards of ethical behaviour, value for clients and professional development.

The MCA Annual Industry Report, the flagship report of the MCA’s industry research programme, is produced annually and is the most authoritative source of information on the management consulting industry in the UK. The MCA produces comment and statistical information relating to the consulting industry throughout the year.

The MCA Awards have been recognising the very best that the UK Management Consulting Industry has to offer for over 25 years. The MCA Awards recognise both the most successful consultant/client projects, and the most outstanding individual consultants.

Member Engagement
The MCA’s high-quality events, committee meetings and working groups offer members the opportunity to network, share knowledge and collaborate.
