BAE Systems is a defence company with a long history of driving successful innovation in massively complex integrated systems. We have been helping to defend the largest nations and businesses in the world for over forty years against advanced threats.
The nature of these threats is now changing and the threats have extended into cyber-space. Cyber threats no longer just come from mischievous hackers playing games. They come from organised, smart, stealthy criminal groups and nations, looking to steal intelligence and capital. Attacks pioneered by nation states are now being used to attack businesses of all sizes and standard security technology has dropped in effectiveness from 80% to 20% over the past 10 years
Additionally criminals are taking advantage of modern communications and computing techniques to plan and conduct their crimes. The techniques and tools that enable business and law enforcement to detect, prevent and investigate crime – both in the physical and cyber worlds – are in the process of rapid adaption.
At the same time, society is evolving the way we consume technology, putting more data out into the public arena than ever before, demanding that Governments, businesses, individuals and communities are all interconnected, and all with the expectation that our privacy is protected.
We employ over 4,800 people across 18 countries in the Americas, APAC, UK and EMEA.
Heritage you can rely on: We have been working with National Security for many years, helping collect and analyse vast quantities of data. This has enabled us to build a unique set of experience, systems and processes around the threat landscape. These, combined with our Cyber special forces - some of the most skilled people in the world, enable us to defend against cyber-attacks, fraud and financial crime, enable intelligence-led policing and solve complex data problems through analysing huge volumes of data.
A job for the adults: Combatting the evolving cyber threats isn’t for start-ups or amateurs. We take a different tack to security vendors. We approach information security using the same techniques, analytics and intelligence we pioneered to defend nations and we view them as a system. We bring experience at military-class levels to the protection of corporate assets. We call this business defence.
Persistence requires persistence: We don’t just put up a firewall or sound an alarm – we use our unique technology and skills to identify threats enabling the appropriate authorities to chase down and neutralise the criminals before they do any significant damage.
Global recognition: Our exclusive accreditations are testament to the quality of work we provide: We’re one of only a handful of companies certified by GCHQ (UK Government Communications Headquarters) and CPNI (Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure) as quality-assured cyber incident response providers and are the first company to receive accreditation for both threat intelligence and penetration testing on the Bank of England’s CBEST scheme.
Enabling our customers: We use these same tools and skills to analyse big data for companies to provide them with solutions that enable them to tailor customer interactions and build trust. For example, we build targeted, interactive websites, we analyse what infrastructure companies need and then future-proof it for them, and our data accuracy is so good that we can help pinpoint sources of infectious diseases and ensure treatments are delivered quickly and efficiently. We also create efficiencies and performance for Governments and businesses through delivering integrated collaboration models to align behaviours to the customers’ interest.
Solutions you can trust: So whether it’s protecting nations and businesses from cyber threats, helping police and national security to identify and bring down terrorists, or analysing big data to ensure businesses prosper our technology, processes and people are set up to deliver the best results
