Best Use of Thought Leadership

AI learning avatar Dr Tara Singh has turned abstract debate about AI-enabled knowledge transfer into a practical demonstration, strengthening Capgemini Invent’s voice on workforce development and human-centred AI.
In specialist industries, knowledge often sits with individuals who have built their expertise over many years. Such organisations face a two-fold challenge: when experienced employees leave or retire, their knowledge goes with them; and traditional training is too slow to keep up with the demands of changing systems. Capgemini Invent identified this as both a client problem and a wider market opportunity. Many organisations were discussing generative AI, but few understood how it could preserve expertise, accelerate learning and improve workforce readiness.
Capgemini Invent’s response was Dr Tara Singh: a lifelike AI learning mentor designed to hold natural spoken conversations in a controlled offline environment. Tara was created as a thought-leadership asset: a working demonstration of how specialist knowledge can be curated, embedded into AI and delivered through a more engaging experience than conventional training materials or a standard chatbot.
Tara was unveiled at DSEI 2025, where more than 150 stakeholders used the technology, generating more than 30 client conversations.
Tara gave Capgemini Invent a differentiating story in a crowded AI market. Many firms can describe AI’s theoretical potential. Far fewer can demonstrate a nuanced, working example that connects technology, learning design and operational relevance. Tara showed that Capgemini Invent could build such an example and, crucially, use it to start higher-value conversations about wider transformation. In that respect, the initiative delivered what the strongest thought leadership should deliver: it identified an issue early, articulated a distinctive response, communicated that response persuasively and created measurable commercial and reputational value for the firm.
