Deloitte with ITV

Technology Transformation

MCA Awards Finalist 2026

Migrating ITV’s critical data to Google Cloud Platform, delivering seven-figure savings and enabling their AI ambitions, all within a tight six-month deadline.

The UK’s largest commercial broadcaster, ITV, set out to modernise its data ecosystem by moving from legacy infrastructure to a unified data platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The brief was ambitious, both in terms of scale and timelines.

Migrations like this often stall due to a variety of challenges, including programme structure, skills gaps, technology relationships and data-related issues such as quality, reconciliation and volumes. Deloitte was brought in with a clear mandate – to help ITV avoid the pitfalls and migrate 24 critical production data products to GCP within a six‑month window. It was essential that the project didn’t interrupt critical business insights, and it had to lay the foundations for ITV’s AI ambitions.

To meet the challenge, Deloitte brought together a specialist team combining programme leadership expertise from the UK with deep Google Cloud and data engineering capabilities from the Deloitte Innovation Hub in Cairo. From the outset, we adopted a delivery model built on a simple principle: operate as one team.

The outcome has been transformative. All data products were successfully migrated to GCP on time and on budget, delivering seven-figure savings through platform decommissioning and reduced runtime costs.

The impact was recognised when the combined Deloitte and ITV team won ITV’s Outstanding Technology Team of the Year award. And we are now working together on a variety of innovative agentic AI solutions enabled by the new unified data platform.
