Deloitte with Reckitt Benckiser Group

Change and transformation in the private sector

MCA Awards Finalist 2026

Strategically repositioning HR, enabling the function to operate within a data-driven Global Business Services model.

Can you turn a fragmented HR function into one that drives ‘best place to work’ accreditation in 15 markets? A service that offers 24/7 digital access to 40,000 people globally?

That’s what Deloitte helped Reckitt do.

After three CEOs, a new strategy and business model changes that included a significant divestiture, Reckitt’s HR function had to evolve. It needed to offer more strategic support to the business and put people and culture at the heart of the organisation to achieve Reckitt’s purpose – ‘for a cleaner, healthier world’.

In 2020, Deloitte was appointed Reckitt’s HR Transformation Partner, an engagement that would run until 2024. Together, we designed and delivered a function that achieved all its objectives and more.

We worked with Reckitt to build high-performing, professional capability that could enable its business transformation, while improving the experience for leaders, employees and candidates. This included moving to an integrated, standardised, digitised operating model, with 76 processes brought up to best practice.

We freed up capacity and improved complex ways of working, leading to more than a 25% reduction in cost to serve, a 90% adoption of HR services, and millions of pounds saved in talent acquisition.

As CEO Kris Licht said: “HR Transformation set the benchmark for programme delivery at Reckitt.”

Deloitte brought deep advisory and technology expertise to the partnership. We also brought consumer industry knowledge, global capacity, local delivery capabilities, plus the understanding of markets and cultures needed to deliver a transformation across borders and business units.
