Self-promotion is a critical skill for career growth, but for many it can feel uncomfortable. Supported by the MCA Women in Consulting Working Group this event is designed to shift mindsets and equip consultants (with a focus on women) with the tools, confidence, and strategies to promote themselves authentically and effectively.
We will discuss potential biases faced in the workplace and strategies to navigate those challenges, the power of networking and mentorship, as well as the impacts of imposter syndrome and how this can be overcome. Hosted by BBC presenter Maryam Moshiri, we will be joined by Kate Bamford Partner, People Advisory Services, EY and MCA WiC Chair, Debbie Dudley, Director, The Openside Group, Amanda Kelly, Head of Local and Regional Government, KPMG, Sarah Murray, Consulting Director, Cowry Consulting, Neil Mitchell, Co-Founder Osmii, Recruitment and Ellen Fraser, Partner, Baringa.
Key Focus Areas:
- Understanding the challenges: Addressing why one might struggle with self-promotion.
- Developing self-awareness: Helping members identify their strengths, accomplishments, and unique skills.
- Practical skills and strategies: Teaching effective communication of achievements, networking, and self-advocacy.
This session is open to all MCA members, and we would encourage the attendance of male allies.
