Has any technology ever been as overhyped, underestimated or misunderstood as AI?
On the one hand we are told that we need to use it or else be replaced by someone who does, or even that our job will be done away with entirely. On the other hand, we are told that we are on the cusp of a new industrial revolution in which AI will automate drudgery, boost productivity and increase innovation.
In this talk from leading AI expert and researcher Dr Stephanie Hare we will:
- Consider real-world examples of how workers are using AI to improve their productivity, create new value and reshape their roles and where they are finding that AI is not the best tool for the job.
- Consider what metrics are needed to measure whether AI is helping our workflows and innovation macro-level trends to understand which business functions, sectors and industries show the most promising benefits.
- Examine what may be holding workers back from exploring how AI might improve their work, and what steps they can take to get started.
