Steve Webb is the UK’s highest profile pensions expert. Before entering Parliament, he was Professor of Social Policy at the University of Bath. He served as Minister for Pensions from 2010 – 15, the longest serving holder of the post. In office he leads a series of major reforms, including implementation of auto-enrolment, the state pension ‘triple lock’ and new post-retirement pension freedoms. Famously, he once said that he was relaxed if pensioners wanted to spend their savings on a Lamborghini.
Now Director of Policy and External Relations at Royal London, Steve is a prolific generator of policy ideas on pensions and savings, and playing a key role in the development of the UK’s largest mutual life and pensions company.
