If Young MCA members don’t yet have to win new business, they soon will if they want their careers to progress. And for many professional services practitioners with strong technical or intellectual powers, the face-to-face sales situation is not always a comfortable place.
To help members gain practical insights into a more effective approach, David will draw on Huthwaite’s deep research and experience to discuss with Young MCA members what clients are thinking when they make major and important buying decisions and the barriers we have to overcome to win their business against the many competing claims on their budget, and against competitors. Many of those barriers are placed there ourselves, through ineffective and unpersuasive approaches to the business development discussion. This session will give some practical guidance in how to be more consultative and persuasive and how to build value for the service, avoid common traps, and will expose some age-old myths about selling.
Huthwaite International has been helping companies and firms of all kinds around the world, including many MCA members, to improve the effectiveness of their sales and business development, for over 45 years. Huthwaite has been an MCA member since 2011 and our speaker, David Freedman, is an MCA Council member.
