SEO London - Structured Mentoring of Secondar School Students

Deadline for entries: Monday 18th March 2019

SEO London are currently recruiting mentors to work with their students. They're looking for mentors who are reliable, committed, and keen to share their knowledge of the industries in which they work and the best way to prepare for the competitive professional landscape in which the students will find themselves in the future.

Mentoring will provide you with the chance to support aspirational, high-achieving students from underrepresented and low socioeconomic backgrounds. You will receive training at the beginning of the programme which will not only provide you with knowledge on how to make the most of the online mentoring platform they use, but also how to engage your mentee as best as possible. During your two-year mentoring commitment, you and your mentor will cover topics such as:

  • Post-A-level options
  • Student finance (what is available to you)
  • Writing personal statements
  • Writing CVs and cover letters
  • Job interview techniques and etiquette
  • Finding work experience
  • Revision techniques
  • Setting personal goals and objectives

The application process is very simple, please email misty.hammond@mca.org.uk for further details.

Consultants enrolled to this event will be supporting a 'Learn to Earn' session and work with students aged 16-17 years at Morpeth College, London. It is also a great opportunity for consultants to share their experiences and discuss with a small group of students the difficulties they faced when they had to select a career path. Marine Megafauna Foundation (MMF) social media presence has been increasing quite significantly in the past months. One of MMF’s core initiatives is to raise public awareness and inspiring action across the world, while working directly with coastal communities and government officials to enhance understanding and support behavioural change. To do so, MMF needs to ensure that local communities are actively engaged by managing and building its presence on socials.

Consultants enrolled in this project will help MMF to define a model on how to manage social media effectively by one person only (current constrain). They will help rolling out MMF’s social media strategy and improve the overall MMF presence.

Rushden Mind is a mental health charity providing support and advice to people suffering from mental disorders or emotional distress. We need people who could ‘do’ & ‘coordinate’ different specialists with different skillsets in close liaison with the Trustees.

We are looking for volunteers with any level of experience and a passion for supporting people with mental health issues. It’s an amazing opportunity to ‘give something back’!
