PwC’s Howard Scott to lead MCA through period of change and opportunity

Howard Scott, Consulting Partner at PwC, is the new President of the MCA (Management Consultancies Association), the industry representative body for UK-based consulting firms. He was elected at the Association’s recent AGM, and takes over from Howard Tollit, Executive Partner within IBM Global Business Services, who remains on the Association’s board.

Howard Scott has 20 years’ experience in management consulting where he focuses on helping financial services organisations change, particularly in how they deliver best outcomes for their customers.

He has been with PwC for 13 years in various roles, including periods leading the consulting risk competency and the Insurance and Investment Management consulting business. He is a hands-on consultant, and today concentrates on advising Insurance Companies.

He is incredibly excited about his new role as President of the MCA and says:

”I’m passionate about how the consulting industry can be a force of good in the economy. But I also recognise that the industry is on the cusp of significant transformation itself as it changes to continue to be relevant to our clients. The MCA is at the heart of that change.

“Our campaign, “The Year of Disruption”, acknowledges the changes that clients and consultants are going through. Talent is a subject close to my heart – developing talented consultants will always remain a top priority for consulting firms so I am equally excited to be working alongside the Young MCA.”

Alan Leaman, CEO of the MCA, said:

“Howard is a tremendous addition to our team and we are looking forward to working closely with him. He brings the perspective of the major consulting firms and combines this with a passionate interest in and commitment to the wider industry. Above all, Howard is determined to ensure that consulting delivers the best possible outcomes for clients and wider benefits for our country.”

Two MCA Vice-Presidents will support Howard Scott:

  • Lucinda Peniston-Baines, Managing Partner at The Observatory International
  • Charles Newhouse, Global Consulting Director for BAE Systems Applied Intelligence

Howard Scott is joined on the MCA Board by three new members: Kate Spalding of Atos Consulting, Greg Bradley of Arcadis and Mark Palmer of OEE Consulting.
