MANAGEMENT CONSULTANCIES ASSOCIATION (MCA) NAMES NEW MCA PRESIDENT

Alex Slater from Capgemini Invent has been announced as the next President of the Management Consultancies Association (MCA), the representative voice for the UK consulting sector. Currently a board member of the MCA, Alex will formally take on the role of President at the next MCA Council meeting on the 25th of March.  The MCA represents over 100 leading firms and is set for further growth in 2026 and has brought in several new members already this year.

Having worked in consulting for more than 20 years, Alex is the Managing Director of Capgemini Invent in the UK and the Northern Europe Region. Part of the Capgemini Group, Capgemini Invent delivers digital innovation, design and AI-led transformation services for clients, backed by a talented and diverse team of consultants, creatives, and data scientists worldwide. Alex has worked with private and public organisations both in the UK and globally.  Alex will take over from incumbent Nicholas Fox from KPMG who has been President for two years and who has helped to support the successful growth of the MCA.

New MCA Vice President will be Richard Brackstone, Managing Partner from Moorhouse Consulting alongside Sarah Moore, a Partner at PwC who also became Vice President earlier in the year.

Commenting on his new role as MCA President, Alex Slater, said:

“As President of the MCA, I am committed to leading with purpose, ensuring that as consultants, we feel part of a broader profession, and helping to shape the future role of consulting in an increasingly data and AI-enabled professional services environment. These are the values and experiences that I look forward to bringing into my time as President working closely with the MCA Board, Council, and wider membership to advance the interests of our profession.”

Chief Executive of the MCA Tamzen Isacsson said:

“The MCA represents over 100 leading firms and welcomed 11 new members last year. We thank Nicholas Fox for his service to the industry and look forward to working with Alex Slater of Capgemini Invent, and with the wider MCA Board and Council, to further strengthen consulting’s positive impact on the economy and society.

Our focus remains on championing high standards across the sector and being the voice of the industry — providing insight, resources and a strong professional community for our members. Through Brexit, Covid and the energy crisis, our industry has consistently come together to share knowledge and support clients through uncertainty. That collaboration has made us stronger as a trade association and ensures our members continue to be the trusted advisers businesses and public services rely on.”

MCA Vice President, Richard Brackstone from Moorhouse, added:

“It’s an honour to represent Moorhouse with the MCA and I’m delighted to take up this new role as Vice President. I see first-hand the value that SME sized consultancies bring in the public and private sectors, reflecting agility, innovation, and deep specialist expertise to our clients. As Vice President I’m keen to ensure the industry has a strong voice and that the invaluable contributions we make are well recognised.”

Sarah Moore, workforce consulting lead partner at PwC and MCA Vice President, said:
I’m delighted to be taking on the role of Vice President at such a transformative time globally and for our industry. The consulting sector is evolving rapidly as organisations embrace new technologies, data-driven decision making and AI-enabled ways of working. The impact on the workforce, skills and the need for human connection has never been more acute. This changing landscape brings both an enormous opportunity and increased expectation for consultants to deliver even greater value for clients and society. I look forward to working with Richard and colleagues across the MCA to help shape this future and champion the innovation, professionalism and collaboration that define our industry.”

The MCA President is elected from amongst the members of the MCA Council to serve a two-year period and works with the MCA Board to direct and supervise the work of the trade association. Alex becomes President at a time when the sector has forecast growth of 5.7% for 2026 and 7.4% for 2027, despite continued economic uncertainty both in the UK and globally and has been included in the Government’s Industrial Strategy.

The MCA Board will also be joined by new members including Abigail Teubner from KPMG and Charlotte Sweeney OBE, founder of Charlotte Sweeney Associates.
