The latest Ipsos Strategy3 report finds that Britain has become more open and socially accepting over the past 40 years, but public trust in institutions remains low and expectations are increasingly difficult to meet. People still value fairness, contribution and support for the vulnerable, yet there is less consensus on how these should be delivered or funded. The report highlights a widening gap between what people want from government, businesses and brands, and what they feel is realistically being delivered, raising difficult questions about trade-offs, trust and the future social contract.
