Digital Transformation Consultant
Atos
Before entering the consulting industry as a graduate in September 2023, friends in the industry described the breadth and depth of exposure that consultants get access to. Since entering the consulting industry, I have experienced this first hand. The opportunity to discuss different problems across industries and capabilities on a day-today basis is both motivating and rewarding.
I am an advocate for hybrid working. Collaboration is core to consulting; being in a workshop at the office exploring a client challenge is powerful. In contrast, the ability to undertake deep focussed work at home is rewarding. As such, hybrid working can provide flexibility, autonomy and balance. Atos is respectful of individuals circumstances and focuses on matching client demand; there is no rigid adherence to a number of days in the office.
I see AI as a tool; it provides efficiency and accelerates outputs. This can stem across many activities, from report writing, research, PowerPoint structure, proposal writing and data analysis. Alongside external platforms, Atos has their own AI model trained on internal data, using both helps me on a weekly basis.
As a consultant, I find it rewarding to work with public sector clients as you realise the end user in the value chain is us, society. Consultants can provide a deep focus to their biggest challenges and act as a trusted advisor and partner on their transformation journey. Recently, I have been helping to accelerate a client’s vision in their use of data and eventual operations, to meet both regulatory requirements and improve their public relations.
Consulting as a career is a continuous learning and development journey. It offers a collaborative and team-orientated environment focused on driving impactful change across industries. Diversity and inclusion are key to project success, with many firms promoting diversity of thought. It you are self-motivated, resilient, adaptable and have a thirst for learning, the next client problem awaits to be solved.
