Technology Consultant of the Year
Sumitha is a director in PwC’s Financial Services Consulting Cloud Transformation business. She was born and raised in India, first coming to the UK for a three-week credit card replatforming programme in 2009. Chennai may still be considered ‘home’, but Sumitha takes great comfort from being part of the UK consulting community. She now has over 15 years of payments industry experience, and has led organisation-wide payments transformations at some of the UK’s largest banks. Sumitha has a unique blend of industry knowledge and cloud-based technical architecture skills, a proven, programme-wide delivery track record, and a true passion for payments processing – the heartbeat of every bank and business. Her strength lies in her ability to deliver technology solutions and business processes that are people-centric, simple and focused on the experience of customers and colleagues. Over the past 24 months, Sumitha has brought her skills and knowledge to major high street bank and its multi-year transformation programme, which will see it replacing significant components of its legacy mainframe-based architecture with new microservice cloud-first strategic architecture. This programme is the most significant work within the bank, with over 400 resources and a budget of £300m. A true leader, Sumitha is a role model for her team and the wider Cloud Transformation business, a Diversity & Inclusion leader, and a strong advocate for building regional technology capability in Manchester. She brings people together, gathers diverse perspectives, and creates genuinely innovative solutions.
