What is the Chartered Management Consultant Accreditation?

The Chartered Management Consultant (ChMC) Accreditation is the highest recognition of a management consultant’s expertise, experience and talent given within the profession. It has been developed to set and maintain the highest standards in management consulting and to reward consistent, high levels of professional competence and achievement. It has now been adopted widely across the industry by some of the leading consulting firms in the world.

It enables individuals to develop and be recognised and helps firms who offer a path to it attract and retain the best talent, a competitive advantage for both. In conjunction with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the MCA, the award was created and developed with the industry and for the first time, presents a recognised standard of career excellence for management consultants to aspire to, and for clients to measure against.

Since its launch more than 1,000 consultants have been awarded Chartered status, 4,000 are on the journey, and more than 50 leading consulting firms are engaged in rolling out CHMC to their staff.

In addition, an Associate award has been developed for consultants with three years’ experience. This award recognises consultants who are on the pathway to become Chartered.

The aim of the MCA is to secure greater recognition of the professionalism of management consulting, to ensure that it is valued and respected by the industry and by clients seeking the best and most qualified consulting support. With strong government endorsement, an increasing number of firms are signing up to ChMC every day.
