Mary Agbesanwa, PwC

Young Consultant of the Year

Mary joined PwC via its Consulting graduate scheme in 2016. She’s a talented young consultant who displays strong skills in strategy, project management and operational excellence. Despite just a few years of service, she has led workstreams, coached others and always delivered high-quality work and insight.

Mary is clearly passionate about how technology and data can be used to solve client problems. She has set up and worked on key engagements with large financial institutions in the UK and abroad, and has taken the lead on PwC’s ‘Scale Fintech’ programme – an accelerator for fast-growing B2B fintech start-ups. Elsewhere, she was heavily involved in the project supporting the growth and governance of Starling Bank’s business bank – a project that won the MCA’s Data and Innovation award in 2020.

Mary also co-leads PwC’s award-winning Multicultural Business Network – a large employee group that celebrates the multiculturalism of its UK firm. Outside work, she blogs on topical issues and co-runs a women’s self-development and entrepreneurial community called the Now You’re Talking Network. She’s always busy doing great things, and has already been recognised for it, being selected as a McKinsey Next Generation Women Leader and ranking number one on Empower’s Future Leader List 2020.

That Mary can balance her impressive client portfolio with her invaluable extra-curricular activities is nothing short of inspirational. She is a role model for others, and has influenced PwC’s thinking on a range of issues. She is both focused and assured in how she delivers with impact, and uses this drive for good both internally and externally.
