Since joining Arup, Toby has demonstrated exceptional expertise and leadership in delivering innovative solutions at London Heathrow Airport, particularly in the Carbon & Sustainability programme. His work on Air Traffic Management tools has significantly contributed to Heathrow’s goal of reducing airborne emissions by 30% by 2030.

Toby has earned a reputation as a trusted advisor by navigating complex technical, logistical, and political challenges. He has successfully led projects that optimise aircraft movements, reducing unnecessary queuing and carbon emissions. A career highlight includes securing the only investment decision in the £200m Carbon Programme in 2024. Additionally, Toby negotiated a first-of-its-kind exemption with airlines to protect Heathrow from future financial penalties. His efforts have set a benchmark for similar projects across the client’s solution portfolio.
