Donald Taylor, IBM Consulting

Rising Star

Since starting his career in 2019, Donald has already made an outstanding, demonstrable impact on his clients, comfortably mirroring that of highly seasoned, experienced consultants.

In just two years, he has directly impacted the nationwide response to a global pandemic; “revolutionised” leakage management in the Water industry; and demonstrated how energy companies can successfully navigate the carbon transition. He has consistently gained the trust of ‘C-Suite’ executives, whilst also establishing himself as an Analytics Subject Matter Expert; pioneering the combination of systems thinking and machine learning; writing multiple papers; mentoring colleagues; and developing a remarkable consulting capability, underpinned by his drive to succeed and innovate.

Donald joined IBM’s graduate programme in March-2019, following graduation from Oxford University with a Double First-Class MMath degree. His passion for complex problems and desire to continuously learn transferred seamlessly to consultancy. A very self-motivated learner, he immediately started to develop exemplary skills in data science, analytics, communication, and leadership. In 2020 alone he completed over 225 hours of registered education.

As stated by one Associate Partner, who has worked with him on multiple projects, “Donald stands out as truly exceptional. He blends soft skills typically only observed in consultants with decades of experience with an analytical mind and deep technical knowledge that enables exponential client impact. In his short career, his insights have transformed three different industries, yielding millions in value. In my experience that is an unprecedented impact”.
