In September 2019, making a decision that would amuse most of his new weather-weary colleagues, Tom packed up his life in Australia and moved to the UK. Ten days later. with just two suitcases, dreams of European city breaks, and a career shift from in-house product manager to consulting with Mason Advisory, he arrived in London. This didn’t leave much breathing room but rising to a challenge like this is clearly Tom’s modus operandi, and his subsequent time at Mason Advisory, with the impact he has made in 18 months, makes us believe he fully deserves the Rising Star award.
Tom landed with a client just days in, making a rapid jump from testing his consultant skills, to supporting global enterprise strategy and direct CIO advisory on every one of his three main projects since. His natural affinity for people and desire to provide valuable change for clients both internal and external, have paid dividends for us, and himself; absorbing and imparting knowledge in easy measure, giving him a broad and covetable skillset – a generalist who focuses on outcomes but brings a technology toolkit.
He says he chose Mason Advisory as it was an SME led by ‘industry veterans’ – small enough for him to have good access to our combined experience; but as one of our youngest recruits he has enhanced our team with his passion for driving value where business and technology intersect.
