Speakers:
Nick Forrest, PwC
Nick is a director in PwC’s Economics and Policy practice. His immense knowledge of economics, markets and industries has been instrumental in leading PwC’s work in the public policy debate on financial services. Over the last two years Nick conducted a study on global market liquidity; assessing the economic impact of structural reform in the EU banking sector. As part of this work, he pushed the importance of understanding the effect of banking regulations on broader financial markets activity.
The study caught on with the policy makers and as such was published in 2015. He was able to join up regulatory insight, capital markets understanding and economic analysis, which provided linkages between banking regulation and financial market liquidity with profound implications for ongoing regulation.
Debapratim De, Deloitte
Debapratim De is a senior economist at Deloitte. He advises clients on macroeconomic developments in the United Kingdom and other advanced economies, and is an author of the Deloitte CFO Survey. Prior to joining Deloitte, De was a researcher in cryptography and applied mathematics at Microsoft. He was educated at BITS Pilani in India and at the London School of Economics.
