Lucy is a BrightStart Apprentice in Deloitte’s Consulting Robotic and Intelligent Automation (R&IA) team. She began her career at 18, rather than taking the conventional university route and after three years, has become one of Deloitte’s most–experienced R&IA practitioners.
Lucy entered a high–powered and male–dominated consulting world, particularly given her Technology specialism: women represent just 28% of the workforce within the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic fields.
Lucy was also one of Deloitte’s first BrightStarts and has since supported the development of the scheme into the well-established career platform that it is today.She has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to clients and to Deloitte’s Apprenticeship Scheme by achieving early promotion within three instead of the usual four years.
Her experience gained from embracing demanding roles and being proactive in her development, means that Deloitte Partners and FTSE 100 clients trust Lucy to take on responsibility above and beyond the expectations set for her peers and grade. She has led strategically significant training in India for client teams and has also been specifically introduced to key clients in challenging circumstances to strengthen relationships and drive change within their businesses.
Internally, Lucy was invited to attend the EMEA–wide ‘Advanced Business Analyst Bootcamp’, where she was chosen to share her experiences and build the EMEA network for Automation. This bootcamp was created for senior personnel and Lucy was the youngest attendee – evidence that her opinion is greatly valued.
