Raj Mann, PwC

Exceptional Support and Delivery by a Consultant During COVID-19

As a senior manager within PwC’s Global Mobility Services team, Raj provides strategic immigration advisory support and thought leadership on geopolitics and industry developments.

Over the past year, this has extended to include leading PwC’s COVID-19 pandemic response, helping clients with workforce crisis management and advising on the evacuation of any employees facing medical and security risks. She has so far supported the evacuation of over 1,000 people, helping stranded employees travel to a safe location or return home.

Working under extreme pressure, she has worked tirelessly to agree exceptional routes of travel with government authorities at a time when borders have been completely locked down. She has handled this with great diplomacy, care and tact – always conscious of the highly emotional and personal nature of her work.

In addition to her emergency evacuation work, Raj has created a platform to provide PwC’s clients with real-time information on travel restrictions, flights, health information and vaccine data. It saw more than 1,500 clients sign up in the first week, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with clients benefiting from the critical information they need to plan for the safety of their employees. Through Raj’s work, PwC has truly been able to realise its purpose – to build trust in society and solve important problems.

What’s more, to further enhance her work, Raj is studying towards an MSc in Migration, Mobility and Development at SOAS University, with her research focusing on the securitisation and politicisation of COVID-19, and the impact on global migration trends, nationalism and immigration policy.
