Zahra Safarfashandi Carnall Farrar

Young Consultant of the Year

Zahra is a Senior Manager at CF, a health care and data science consultancy. She is driven by a desire to tackle the biggest challenges facing the health and care sector, to overcome health inequalities and deliver tangible improvements for patients in the UK and beyond. Having trained as a doctor before moving into consulting, she’s coupled her clinical and consultancy skills to realise opportunities to make a real difference for patients and to champion tackling inequalities that remain in today’s society.

To date, she worked on a diverse range of client projects including designing and implementing innovative AI solutions to enhance the patient experience, large-scale technology rollouts e.g. connecting 5m+ patient records, preparing the UK healthcare system for EU Exit and helping healthcare organisations to overcome clinical, financial and operational challenges. More recently, she’s led teams focussed on helping NHS colleagues, civil servants and ministers to maintain levels of patient care through the pandemic, against a backdrop of huge operational pressure and is now helping NHS organisations to deliver an equitable approach to service recovery.

As CF’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) lead, she’s also helped drive commitment across the organisation to deliver real change. Through her work, CF has diversified its staff base and people policies, refreshed its consulting methodologies to drive a focus on inequalities and have contributed to public debate and policy change through thought leadership and national inequality tool development.
