Chris Maxsted, IMPOWER Consulting

Chris-Maxsted-IMPOWER

Rising Star

Chris Maxsted has had a significant impact on both his IMPOWER colleagues and the clients it serves in a very short space of time.

IMPOWER works with organisations and practitioners on the frontline of critical public services – from children’s services to hospital wards – and strives to make them more efficient and effective. Ultimately, driving better outcomes for those who rely on those services.

But the consultancy often encounters frustration and confusion about latest government policies and announcements from the people tasked with translating them into action on the ground.

Since joining IMPOWER from HM Treasury, Chris has brought invaluable insight that’s helping to bridge the gap between central government and local delivery. As a former football statistician, he also combines a sharp analytical mindset with a civil servant’s collaborative skills.

He has an ability to engage clients – often in very difficult circumstances – helping them to understand government thinking and use that knowledge to support clients to focus on what really matters.

He’s played an integral role at a strategic level in enabling local government to develop a clearer understanding of emerging integrated care systems (ICSs). At an operational level, he’s helped to design a new system for the safe discharge of patients from hospitals in London.

From one-to-one conversations and workshops to presenting at national conferences, Chris is demonstrating the added value that consultancy brings.

The fact that this has all been achieved within months of entering the world of consultancy makes Chris a Rising Star.
