Young Consultant of the Year
Michael Wyatt has swiftly become an integral member of the IMPOWER team. He not only delivers significant impact on behalf of clients but also inspires and prepares fellow consultants for some of the consultancy’s most challenging projects.
Over the last two years, Michael has demonstrated excellent leadership skills to guide teams tasked with delivering change on busy hospital wards while effectively managing relationships with clients and their many stakeholders.
For example, his work in Lincolnshire helped to bring about substantial cost savings within the NHS while embedding new approaches that are cutting time spent in hospital beds and ensuring patients get appropriate care and support at home.
By setting up an intermediate care ward in Surrey, Michael has helped the client double weekly discharges, reduce care costs, and fundamentally change the culture to one where health and social care practitioners collaborate to drive better outcomes for patients.
He’s playing a key role within the organisation by leading IMPOWER’s learning and development offer. Through a range of materials and sessions, he ensures new recruits are fully briefed on the way we work and prepares consultants embarking on their first health projects.
He’s an ambassador for the consultancy, both in the way he promotes its impact at every opportunity and the way he works.
As one medical director says of Michael: “Working with IMPOWER is the highlight of my week because of the way he approaches improvement work, bringing me and my team on the journey and focusing on outcomes, not cost.”
