Georgina Letts from PwC received the first highly commended award for being an engaging and influential ambassador who embodies the core qualities of a Chartered professional in action. The second highly commended award was presented to Ellie Wilkes from EY, whose passion and authenticity were praised as shining brightly by the judges.

David Orr, a consultant at Mott MacDonald, is the second person to win the Chartered Management Consultant of the Year Award, now in its second year since its launch in 2022.

David Orr from Mott MacDonald said:

“When people consider pursuing the ChMC accreditation, they sometimes wonder if it’s worth the effort and investment. It is! My decision to pursue Chartered status was driven by its multifaceted appeal, with a significant draw being the challenge it presented.

“From the outset, it was evident that Chartered status stands for rigour and excellence. Receiving the title of Chartered Management of the Year at the MCA 2023 Awards is a gratifying and humbling moment. It’s a huge honour to have been shortlisted alongside such talented nominees.”

Ann Francke OBE CEO of the CMI said:

“Congratulations to David Orr on winning the Chartered Management Consultant of the Year, as well as The Times Overall Consultant of the Year. Chartered Management Consultant status is an accolade that empowers consultants to elevate their firms’ performance and amplify their positive economic and social contributions. We are excited about the future impact of the outstanding individuals who hold Chartered status and how it will further benefit consultancies in meeting the diverse needs of their clients, staff, and society at large.”

During the event Tamzen Isacsson, Chief Executive of the MCA, said in her speech:

“The role consultants play in national life continues to broaden and to deepen. “Increasingly we play a vital role in future proofing British and global businesses and enabling them to grow and prosper.

“As the challenges become more daunting, we respond as a profession, head on, by raising standard. That’s also why we established the Chartered Management Consultant accreditation. Setting standards clients can understand and rely on. At its heart is not just an examination of key competencies, but a commitment to the highest ethical standards.”

The Chartered Management Consultant (ChMC) accreditation is the highest recognition of expertise, experience, and talent that management consultants can attain. It was established to uphold and elevate the standards of management consulting while rewarding consistent, high levels of professional competence and achievement.
