MCA Appoints Director of New Think Tank

The MCA (Management Consultancies Association) has today appointed Paul Connolly as Director of its new Think Tank.

The Think Tank will gather insights from the management consulting industry and make a positive and constructive impact on debates on public policy, the economy, and the day-to-day commercial challenges faced by businesses.

Previously an independent consultant and former Director of Policy and Strategy at Serco Consulting, Paul Connolly has worked on numerous central government policy initiatives and reviews, both as a consultant and an official, including the Gershon and Hampton Reviews. He is also an expert on regulatory reform and its impact on business and the economy.

Alan Leaman, Chief Executive of the MCA, said: “We’re delighted to launch the new Think Tank. Management consultants have a breadth of insights, experience and knowledge that can contribute constructively to improving policy and business strategy. I’m confident that, under Paul’s leadership, the Think Tank will add real value for the consulting industry and also make a powerful contribution to debates on public policy, the economy and the business environment.”

Paul Connolly said: “I’m hugely excited to take on this new role. Management consultants understand the systems in which high-level policy and strategy choices unfold. They understand the frontline where public services and businesses meet with citizens and customers. As such they are uniquely placed to help business address the sharp challenges of the current economic climate and help government develop better policy. The Think Tank will capture and develop their insights and share them with the widest possible audience.”
