Speaking about the Spending Review today, Alan Leaman, Chief Executive of the Management Consultancies Association said:
“We have heard the numbers today but we have yet to see the plans. The coalition is embarking on the most ambitious cost-cutting and transformation programme in decades. We can maintain quality public services while closing the deficit, but this will require fundamental changes in the way that the public sector organises and manages itself. A lot will depend on whether the sector has the flexibility, imagination and leadership skill to deliver these changes.”
