Alex Shaw, PwC

Experienced Leader Award

Alex is a senior manager in PwC’s Private Sector Operations practice. He started his career in industry, managing transport and warehousing teams at XPO, and as a supply chain strategy manager at M&S. As a consultant, he now focuses on supply chain productivity improvements and cost-based transformations, motivated to see sustainable, long-lasting change delivered collaboratively with his clients.

Over the past three years, Alex has demonstrated absolute client focus, unwavering curiosity, and a passion for making a difference. He has led teams in a wide range of client and internal engagements, from improving the flow of manufacturing sites, to deploying smart automations to give time back to front-line leaders, to leading the integration of a specialist consultancy business into PwC.

Alex leads by example, bringing drive to client engagements, and pushing the boundaries of innovation. For example, his leadership of robotics solutions in postal operations delivered one million hours of capacity at a time of critical need. But Alex not only delivers results, he also builds new and lasting capabilities. He seeks to coach and empower his team members, creating an environment where there’s a genuine learning culture and a motivation to experiment in different ways to solve problems.

His clients say he’s one of a rare breed of leaders; someone who “not only delivers great results, but also seamlessly becomes a team member, which in itself is a clear example of his ability to understand differing personalities and genuinely consider personal circumstances and situations.”
