Darra Singh, EY

Lifetime Achievement Award

Darra Singh’s early life made him determined to address injustice. That sense of purpose never dimmed during his outstanding career, from leading some of the UK’s biggest public sector organisations to gaining an OBE for community cohesion, along with a ground-breaking decade at EY.

He entered consultancy to blend his public sector experience with private sector capabilities. That powerful combination enabled him to design and deliver large-scale programmes that set the agenda for the future of public services.

Joining EY in 2012, then rising to Managing Partner, Government and Infrastructure, Darra grew his practice to lead a team of over 1,000 people, placing EY in the top three for public sector consultancy and growing the profile of his profession.

As a trusted advisor at the most senior level of government, he has consistently delivered lasting financial and societal value, helping clients look after the interests of taxpayers and those most vulnerable. His MCA award-winning London Ventures programme brought the capital’s 33 local authorities together with technology companies to create transformative change in vital areas such as homelessness. An extraordinary grasp of detail and a gift for communication help him navigate complex stakeholder environments.

Darra championed diversity and inclusion from the beginning, acting as a highly visible leader who uses his influence and networks to bring people together to drive change. But perhaps his biggest legacy will be as a mentor, developing new leaders who don’t just follow in his footsteps but who feel empowered to find new and exciting paths.
