Idris Memon, EY

Inclusion Award

Idris Memon is a Director in EY’s People Advisory Services (PAS) practice. He has been applying data and analytics to the diversity and inclusion (D&I) agenda, to bring greater clarity, transparency and accountability to the field. By putting a gender and race lens on areas, such as utilisation and career progress, he’s been identifying what works and what doesn’t – driving discussions and calculating returns on D&I investment. His focus on leading (rather than lagging) indicators is further accelerating change and has placed him centre stage in EY’s drive towards industry-leading D&I practices.

Idris’ natural generosity and ease when talking about difference has made him a go-to person on inclusion. This in turn led to his appointment as Race & Ethnicity sponsor for PAS – a role normally assigned only at Partner level. With a mission to promote diversity and drive culture change, Idris has created his own inclusion initiatives while developing new and highly effective ways to implement existing firm-wide strategies at EY, as well as supporting clients in this space. The combination of science, creativity and caring runs through a series of engagements Idris leads, such as helping the Royal Navy to transform and adopt evidence-based methods to make sure its ranks better reflect society. From one-to-one mentoring to major D&I frameworks, Idris makes sure that difference is something to talk about, celebrate and drive performance – rather than a division that can hinder personal and professional growth.
