Nicholas Moseley, Grant Thornton

Rising Star

Nick is a Manager within Grant Thornton’s Public Sector Advisory team and specialises in the delivery of large-scale real estate and financing programmes. Previous to this Nick worked as an analyst within Corporate Finance however he was drawn to consulting as a result of the variety of projects and the opportunity to think creatively when designing solutions for clients. Nick is passionate about the public sector and aims to deliver real, tangible value to clients which benefits populations, especially at a time where local authorities are stretched in terms of both capacity and in terms of finances.

An example of Nick’s work can be seen in Grant Thornton’s support of the Towns Fund Programme. This programme was launched by central government in 2019 and aims to drive the sustainable economic regeneration of towns to deliver long term economic and productivity growth. Nick identified a number of challenges in the preliminary work, specifically around capacity in regard to securing private finance. By dissecting the challenges Nick has been able to help design several funding solutions to aid Towns in securing private finance to ensure successful delivery of their interventions.

Moving forward, Nick will look to build on the success of Grant Thornton’s Public Services Advisory team by focusing on adding value beyond base requirements, taking a pragmatic approach to overcome challenges; and buying in to a ‘one team’ approach. He hopes to continue focussing on financing specifically within public sector real estate which in turn improve communities across the UK.
