Apprentice of the Year
Freya is a Third-Party Risk Management assessor at EY’s Newcastle-based Consulting Service Delivery (CSD) department. She joined the EY organisation in September 2021, and in a very short period has become a ‘go-to’ person in the Cyber team. Here, she has taken on critical responsibilities, including being Deputy Project Lead across some of EY’s biggest wealth management and insurance clients.
No task is too big for Freya. Her time management skills, coupled with her dedicated work ethic, ensure that her work is always completed to the highest standard and in a timely fashion. This enables her to volunteer for ‘side of desk activities’ when time allows, and she is frequently sought out as a hard-working individual to support with tasks. Whether this be assisting on an RFP, or leading a training session, Freya always rises to the occasion. The impact she has made at EY is evident in the feedback she receives from her peers, her seniors and clients alike.
Freya is a role model to those that question the more traditional path of university and is a true advocate for women in STEM. Freya has worked with the EY UK careers team to promote the concept of degree apprenticeships to school leavers and raise awareness of alternative career and education pathways.
