MCA Awards 2024 FinalistAs a senior manager at Capgemini Invent UK, John Pyant guides teams through complex, business-critical transformations by focusing on client collaboration and unlocking people’s potential. As head of wellbeing, he’s expanded support programmes, making Capgemini a better place to work. He credits meditation for transforming his mindset and ability to support colleagues.

John joined Capgemini Invent in 2018 and has since played a leading role on two large-scale business transformation programmes. He’s built an environment founded on trust and psychological safety that’s empowered more than 250 client staff to deliver change. He’s transparent about his own development and voraciously consumes books on leadership and management.

Between 2020 and 2023, John led the delivery of a large-scale business transformation project for a global grocery retailer, earning client satisfaction scores of 4.6/5.

Additionally, he’s head of wellbeing for 2,000-plus Capgemini Invent UK colleagues. He’s helped raise awareness of mental health, among other initiatives, leading a core team of six and a wider network of more than 70.

John mentors team members to have the confidence to grow. An example was when he coached an apprehensive colleague to present confidently to an audience of more than 50 people.

Ultimately, John understands the importance of mutual respect and establishing deep human connections. This empowers clients and team members to develop new capabilities and creates the conditions for individuals to stretch themselves safely.
