Don spent many years working as a civil servant before transitioning to being a management consultant. The foundation of his success in delivering for clients like Defence Digital can be attributed to his leadership values and style, P3M delivery and proactive stakeholder engagement.
The collaborative ‘One Team’ approach he fosters has been critically important to facilitate trust between his team and the client and guaranteed mutual success through open communication and knowledge transfer.
His story is about building and leading teams, developing and refining his leadership skills, and in doing so, finding the balancing between:
- maintaining team cohesion,
- developing team members’ skills and competencies,
- while ensuring the delivery of exceptional quality outcomes for the client.
These three aspects have proved to be inextricably linked and, striking the right balance between these key elements has been crucial and, whilst difficult, by drawing on his leadership skills, he’s been successful.
