Deloitte partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) to realise its mission to create a seamless and unified employee experience by consolidating and modernising WBD’s back-office functions and technology systems. And so began “Project One,” an ambitious initiative to weave together the intricate tapestry of HR processes, IT systems, and communication channels of the two global companies, all within a tight eight-month timeframe.


The merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery, Inc. to form Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) brought together two entertainment giants to create a streaming superpower. However, behind the scenes at the newly-amalgamated organisation the business faced a significant integration challenge: uniting their workforces behind the new brand.

Deloitte partnered with WBD to realise its mission to create a seamless and unified employee experience by consolidating and modernising WBD’s back-office functions and technology systems. And so began “Project One,” an ambitious initiative to weave together the intricate tapestry of HR processes, IT systems, and communication channels of the two global companies, all within a tight eight-month timeframe.

Deloitte and WBD joint team first took the time to understand the intricacies and individual requirements of the different sub brands. This wasn’t about imposing an off-the-shelf solution but creating a solution which accounted for the breadth of channels and unique requirement of each. Success hinged on empowering WBD’s workforce, not just migrating them to a new platform.

Through a series of workshops, design sessions, and data migration efforts, a new digital landscape began to emerge. Disparate intranets and service portals converged into a single, user-friendly “one-stop-shop” for all employee needs. HR processes were streamlined, knowledge bases were consolidated, and communication channels were unified, creating a more cohesive and efficient employee experience.

The project had provided a spark of excitement, a renewed sense of purpose, and a belief that WBD, as a unified force, was poised for greatness. Employee surveys, conducted before and after the project, revealed a significant increase in satisfaction with IT services, a reduction in frustration with administrative processes, and a heightened sense of belonging within the organisation.

Deloitte’s work on “Project One” was a testament to the power of partnership, a shared journey of transformation that delivered not just tangible results, but also a lasting legacy of unity, efficiency, and empowerment for Warner Bros. Discovery.
