The world has adapted and new ways of working have arisen as digital transformation was turbocharged, driving organisations to find a ‘new normal’ at a pace that could never have been predicted in previous change programmes.

Amid the change, many private and public sector organisations have responded by moving sustainability up the agenda, and in some cases using it to support recovery from the pandemic to make a firm link between sustainability and cost reduction.

Atkins have looked at how the relationships between time, cost and quality (the triangle of project management) will need to adapt to the ‘new normal’ to become a diamond (or rhombus), adding the fourth element of sustainability.
