Sam relentlessly pursues knowledge whilst also quickly identifying and defining solutions to make a positive impact on the world and the people around him. His ability to take complex problems and transpose them into accessible solutions allows him to nurture client relations and help grow our business. Sam has proven his capability by leading and delivering a project to set up a real-time train movements database using an open data API. Despite the heavily-technical challenge of understanding UK rail data sources,Sam worked closely with stakeholders to deliver a variety of analyses, reports and recommendations to executives throughout Network Rail. Sam’s leadership and input has not only transformed the way that Network Rail deals with performance, resulting in delay reductions at most major stations in the UK, but has also won the MCA Performance Improvement in the Public Sector award in 2019.
Sam’s kind and giving nature when training and mentoring others, combined with an unrivalled understanding of the industry and our client’s problems, has been essential in expanding our rail performance analytics team, working withNetwork Rail and TOCs, to over 25 individuals.
