Digital Railway Programme
In 2017 the Arcadis team began working with Network Rail to support the Digital Railway Programme to enhance performance, increase capacity, improve safety and reduce the long-term operating costs of the network.
As part of the programme the joint team developed a Change Manual, which is an industry approach to delivering business change that focuses on the impact of new technology on people. The manual was created in collaboration with representatives from across the Rail Industry. The joint Arcadis and Network Rail team is now using it to manage the change related to the early digital railway deployment schemes.
The change manual is helping the rail industry understand and manage the impact of technical change on people. More broadly, the Digital Railway Programme is now widely referred to as a “technologically enabled people change programme”, which reflects how the rail industry values change management.
